Samar is an educator with a degree in Health professions education and is a trained Educational project manager. Her current research interests include violence studies and early prediction of violence. Samar is also a researcher in the field of victimology and has formal training as a criminal profiler.

Birgit Völlm is Professor in Forensic Psychiatry at the University of Nottingham (UoN) and a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist in the enhanced service for personality disorders at Rampton high secure hospital. She is on the board of the Forensic Section of the European Psychiatric Association and the Secretary of the Forensic Section of the World Psychiatric Association. Her main research interests include the neurobiology of personality disorders and social cognition, treatment of personality disorders, service development, comparisons between services in different countries and ethical issues in forensic-psychiatric care. She holds national and European grants on long-stay, the effectiveness of Individual Placement Support and on Circles of Support and Accountability. She has published nearly 100 scientific papers and book chapters.

Shazmin Majid, BSc, MSc,

Shazmin has worked as a researcher for over two years at the University of Nottingham. She has worked on numerous projects in relation to secure psychiatric services in collaboration with Professor Birgit Vollm. She is also currently working as a researcher for the Centre for Dementia at the University. She has a degree in Psychology, and a masters in Psychological Research Methods both from the University of Sheffield.

Hanan is a lecturer of Forensic medicine at Ain Shams University (ASU) since March 2016, who holds an MD degree in Forensic medicine and clinical Toxicology. She took part in many scientific research projects to fulfill her research interest in crime scene analysis and violence risk assessment.


Dr. Noha Magdy Elrafie, MSc.,

Noha is a very active young researcher, who’s working to make a difference. She’s an assistant lecturer at Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University (ASU), got a MSc. degree in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology and a hospital management diploma from ASU and the Canadian Academy. She has 7 years of practical, research and academic experiences. She was awarded many scholarships; US and UK, presented internationally in many conferences and participated in many international projects. She is currently doing a joint MD thesis with University of Nottingham in the field of forensic psychiatry, which is her new passion.

Abdo is a young media and communications professional, who has more than 4 years of experience in business communications, events organizing, and media.

He is currently working as the communications manager for a number of international joint research projects. He has worked as a journalist, creative writer and media consultant for various regional media organizations, start-ups and international conferences.

He has a special interest in youth, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development, and his main target is to fill the gap between Egyptian scientific researchers and the community.
